Washington Elementary School

  • The original Washington School was a two-story brick building built sometime in the early 1900's. During the early days of its existence Washington was an elementary school on the ground floor and a high school on the second floor. In 1918 or 1919 Kingsburg High School was built, and Washington became what it is today, a primary school.  In 1938 and 1939 the present building was erected using Work Progress Administration funds. During much of the time between the building of the present school and 1989 Washington School also served as the District Office. Read more...
